League toppers Chennai Super Kings will look forward to consolidate their position with a sixth consecutive win over Delhi Daredevils in the 26th match of Pepsi Indian Premier League 2014 to be played in Ferozshah Kotla Stadium, New Delhi, on Monday.

CSK have 10 points from six games, only losing their opening match to Kings XI Punjab by six wickets. On the other hand, DD have just four points from an equal number of games and are currently placed seventh in the points table, just a notch above Mumbai Indians, who also have earned two points from six games.

CSK has a formidable batting line-up and, barring their first encounter, the team has been playing up to its reputation. The team's opening duo Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith have contributed largely in their team's win, scoring handsomely in almost all the games. In fact, together, they have contributed nearly 56 percent of the runs scored by the team this IPL season. Even Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and skipper Dhoni have chipped in whenever the team needed their services.

DD too has a strong batting line-up, but the team's batsmen have failed to click too often. Barring J P Duminy, who scored a remarkable 212 in six matches, and Quinton de Kock, no other batsman has been able to live up to their reputation. Although de Kock has been successful in all the three matches he played so far, the team is yet to avail the services of its skipper Kevin Pietersen, who is nursing an injury.

While upbeat CSK seems to be determined to win the IPL for the third time, DD's performance so far lacks consistency. Coach Gary Kirsten, who had a wonderful stint as India coach earlier, need to sit with his boys and sort out things, especially emphasizing the need to be steady during the middle overs.

For those interested in statistics, DD has suffered most of its losses in IPL to CSK. The teams have met 13 times so far and the results are 9-4 in favor of CSK. Moreover, Chennai has played five matches in Ferozshah Kotla so far, winning four of them. On the other hand, DD has played 35 matches in this venue, their home ground, winning just 14 matches.
