'CSI’ Season 15 Spoilers, Premiere Date: 'The CSI Effect' Puts Finlay In Danger, Ticking Time Bomb

The popular CBS crime drama series, 'CSI', will be returning on the air to start its Season 15 with an episode entitled, "The CSI Effect."

The premiere episode will focus on the bomb threat encountered by Julie "Finn" Finlay, who is played by Elisabeth Shue.

"Finlay must deal with a bomb planted in her car, while Russell gets a call from someone claiming to be the Gig Harbor killer," read the official synopsis for the episode.

"The CSI Effect" promises to be filled with suspense, as seen in the preview of the show that the producers recently released.

In the sneak peek video, Finlay is seen getting into a car, and when the locks automatically trigger, a bomb is seen ticking down as its eerily dropping digits appear on the dashboard.

The event caused Russell, who is played by Ted Danson, to become distraught. As he tries to solve the case, he's seen inside a trailer where several pictures of Finlay are hanging.

Although Finlay is in a tense situation in the preview, it looks like the character will not die. The character will either be saved by the bomb squad, or the bomb threat will appear to be a mere distraction to keep Russell busy.

Finlay's survival is likely, since it was announced that the character will team up with a private detective played by 'Human Target' actor Mark Valley.

Aside from Valley, the show's upcoming season will also feature stars like 'Saved by the Bell' actor Paul Gosselaar, and 'Third Watch' actor Skipp Sudduth.

Meanwhile, the 'CSI' spin-off entitled 'CSI: Cyber' is also about to make its debut. Unlike other 'CSI' series spin-offs, this one will focus on cybercrimes, instead of criminal forensics.

The spin-off will star several familiar faces like 'Medium' actress Patricia Arquette, 'Beverly Hills, 90210' actor Luke Perry, and 'Dawson's Creek' star James Van Der Beek.

The Season 15 premiere of 'CSI' airs Sept. 28 at 10/9c on CBS.
