'CSI' News: Episodes Delayed and Replaced by Running NFL Games
On Sunday, November 9, 2014, 'CSI' was delayed for 17 minutes for some ET/CT viewers, which left some of them asking questions.
CSI on CBS! reports that @CS I_CBS tweeted: "Due2 NFL game, new start time
Due to the 2014 NFL Season, which began on Thursday, September 4, 2014, and will conclude with Super Bowl XLXX, the league championship game, on Sunday, February 1, 2015, some episodes of CSI have been repeated or not shown at all in some parts of United States. This has been going on for about three weeks now.
For example, "Madam Secretary," and "Girls Gone Wilder," which were episodes scheduled to be shown on Sunday, October 26, were not shown at all.
According to Carter Matt, CBS is making more money on NFL, and they want to make sure they get all the ratings from the games, and CSI has been around for a long time, so it might go the way of other shows like 'Mulaney' which will probably just air its remaining episodes and be cancelled. On a side note, other shows affected so far are 'Resurrection' and 'Revenge'.
At this point, viewers are not sure anymore when these shows will be shown or whether they will be shown at all. In 2012, CBS cancelled the running of 'CSI', after 10 seasons, so what we have now are rebroadcasts. With the NFL games still on, we can only hope there will be new episodes of 'CSI' in the near future.
