‘Constantine’ Release Date, New Trailer: Crossover of DC TV and DC Movie Universes

Guillermo Del Toro has revealed that 'Constantine' will be based off a mix between the DC TV and DC Movie universes. Guillermo talked with IGN and discussed the story they'll use for 'Justice League Dark'. He was ecstatic about situation where "he, DC Entertainment and WB are seeing eye-to-eye" on the film adaptation, which is still in its scripting stage.

For those who are not familiar with 'Justice League Dark', it is about a superhero team which mostly stemming from the DC Universe. The team is made up of Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, Constantine, Zatanna and the Changing Man.

For Del Toro's own lineup, he will feature Deadman, Demon, Zatanna, Constantine, SwampThing and the Floronic Man.

When IGN asked if he will be separating the TV and Movie universes, he said he "would love to have The Spectre in it, because he's one of the most... absolutely, beyond moral characters in this universe and he does crazy things... but, I'm happy with... they're doing that with 'Constantine.' What I made clear to them is that the TV series will not effect the movie and they said that's okay. They said you can have independence. Now, if we see the TV series and we can mesh with it or cast the same actor depending on where the movie is going, I would be happy to consider that."

'Constantine' airs on Oct. 24 at 10 pm. EST on NBC, watch the official trailer below:
