Colton Dixon's "Never Gone" #1 on iTunes Thanks to Angie Miller's Performance
Colton Dixon may not have won season 11 of American Idol, but his smash single, "Never Gone" was covered by Angie Miller, a Top 10 favorite to win the show.
Dixon took to Twitter to show his support for Miller's powerful rendition.
Dixon tweeted, "?@AngieAI12 just killed "never gone". I'm beyond proud. ?#speechless#incredible".
Fellow outspoken Christian artist, Angie Miller tweeted back, "?@coltondixon such a HUGE pleasure singing your song!! Hope you had a great night watching it =) Thanks for the support, man!! ?#ImAMessenger".
Angie Miller's Idol performance has sent "Never Gone" to #1 on the iTunes Christian and Gospel charts. Colton Dixon's debut album, A Messenger sits at the #1 spot as well.
Dixon was always a favorite to win season 11 of American Idol. Since being eliminated, only Dixon and Idol winner Phillip Phillips have released full-length albums. Predicted to win season 11, Dixon was a shocking elimination. Dixon himself cites his decision to cover Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" as the main reason for being kicked off the show. Though the performance was great, he did feel it alienated him from his audience.
To get back in touch with his Christian demographic, veteran Christian rockers, Third Day, have brought Colton Dixon along on their "The Miracle Tour." The 45-city tour kicked off late February with Third Day, Dixon and rising singer/songwriter Josh Wilson.
