CM Punk Returning to WWE 2014? Stephanie McMahon Won't Rule Out Possibility
Although CM Punk quit the WWE in January 2014, his fans have been always hoping that the superstar wrestler would eventually return to the ring. In fact, fans keep chanting his name every time his wife, WWE Diva AJ Lee steps into the spotlight.
However, if Punk does decide to return to the WWE, how will Stephanie McMahon react?
A report by Wrestlezone quotes a WWE source saying that company officials are very worried with the CM Punk chants that ruined Monday's Raw broadcast.
In fact, it has been reported that WWE staff in their social media department have been asked to monitor Reddit, Twitter, top-liked Facebook fan pages and other forums as well as platforms to find out if CM Punk's fans are planning any rally similar to the #HijackRaw movement back in March.
What is more, Sportskeeda has reported that WWE edited out CM Punk's crowd reaction from Part 1 of the 'WWE 2K15' roster reveal. While Renee Young and Steve Austin were naming the stars on the roster, there was silence when Punk's name was mentioned, as compared to the other wrestlers whose names were mentioned amid loud cheers.
This website further reports that WWE used a simple voiceover of Young announcing Punk's name rather than the original footage from the roster reveal.
At the moment, it certainly seems like the WWE is doing everything to remove anything related to Punk as the company even had a fire sale of the merchandise related to CM Punk on their website.
Nevertheless, there is still a slight possibility of CM Punk's return to WWE as Stephanie McMahon appeared on WGN Morning news on Monday. She initially talked about WWE and Susan G. Komen collaborating for the third time for a breast cancer awareness campaign, but then mentioned CM Punk.
When asked whether it was possible to have reconciliation between CM Punk and the WWE, she replied, "CM Punk is an incredible character," and, "We've had a lot of fun with him and who knows what the future holds.
