Rumors are spreading that CM Punk may be returning to the WWE, because his newly-wedded wife and professional wrestler, AJ Lee, has returned to the ring on Monday Night Raw.

This speculation became stronger following an announcement by WWE that Punk will feature in the Wrestlemania rewind later this week.

As CM Punk's contract with the WWE expires on July 17, 2014, the entertainment company dealing with professional wrestlers will now have to decide on his future in the company. PWInsider says that there has been no deal from WWE's side in regards to a contract since February. According to sources, his status with the company remains unshifted.

Meanwhile, some reports said that fans were shocked to see AJ return to the ring on Monday, as they were not expecting her to return so soon. What's more interesting, is that with her return Lee reclaimed her championship title from Paige, the woman who snatched it from her. Currently, all eyes are focused on Punk, as fans still hope that he will not only return to the WWE, but also continue to wreak havoc in the manner he did before quitting in January.

Earlier this year, the "Straight Edge" superstar decided to quit the ring and has remained detached from all the current events since then. While WWE has remained quiet with his situation; it is expected that there will be some news about Punk's future from the WWE soon.

Though Punk has left the ring, fans continued to rally behind him and even chanted his name at all events. They desperately want their superstar back. This was never more obvious than on WWE Monday Night Raw which was organized in Punk's hometown - Chicago, Illinois. Paul Heyman, Punk's former manager, played his music, bringing the crowd to its feet. However, when Heyman walked out instead of Punk, the entire arena went into a chorus of boos and chants demanding Punk's return.
