Jamal Crawford scored 31 points but missed 3 pointers during crunch time. Blake Griffin also scored 21 points in a losing effort for the Clippers.
"From here on out its just about winning. If I go 0 for 15 or 0 for 20 and we win, I could care less," said Clipper's All-Star point guard Chris Paul to reporters. "Like I've said in the past it's more than this game. It's about playing the right way going into the playoffs."
The Mavericks are currently tied with the Phoenix Suns for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference standings.
Dallas defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder by the final score of 128-119 on Tuesday night. Dirk Nowitzki had 32 points and 10 rebounds to propel the Mavericks to victory.
"His emotion and his attitude carried the team. He's a prideful guy. I think great players are great for a reason," said Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle to reporters in reference to Nowitzki's double-double performance. "Obviously, we need the win. I'm just real proud of the way the guys battled the whole way through it."
