Clavius Movie News: Joseph Fiennes Stars in New Christian Film That takes Place During Jesus Christ's Resurrection (VIDEO)

It has been announced that 'Hercules' and 'Shakespeare in Love' actor Joseph Fiennes will star in the lead role in the upcoming Christian film titled 'Clavius'.

"CLAVIUS takes place during the year 33 A.D. in Judea and is told through the eyes of an agnostic Roman Centurion [named Clavius] charged by Pontius Pilate to investigate rumors of a risen Messiah and to locate the missing body of Jesus of Nazareth in order to subdue an imminent uprising in Jerusalem," according to the official summary.

"Along Centurion's mission, his doubts of such a supernatural occurrence peel away as he encounters the Apostles and other historic characters while piecing together the mysterious events that unfolded after the crucifixion."

The 44-year-old English actor is currently playing as King Eurystheus in the newly released 'Hercules' which stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in the title role.

Along with Fiennes, Tom Felton will also join the cast of the forthcoming movie that shows how the Church Age began after the death, burial, and resurrection of the Son of God; but his role has not been revealed as of yet.

Felton is best known for his portrayal as Draco Malfoy in the popular 'Harry Potter' movie franchise, he first played that role in the original movie titled 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' in 2001.

No actor has been selected to play the role of Pontius Pilate, the prefect of the Roman province of Judea who reluctantly ordered the death sentence of Jesus Christ after telling the crowd that "I find no guilt in Him [Jesus Christ]," according to John 18:33 in the Bible (English Standard Version).

The 'Clavius' film is expected to arrive in movie theaters around Easter 2015.
