Tonight on "American Idol" was the Top 8 singing hits from Motown classics.

The Judges were critical of her performance all across the board.  Keith Urban said, "The melody kept pulling her down. She soared in moments. Her talent is undeniable."  Nicki Minaj added, "She tried to show a different side to herself that didn't need to be shown."  Randy Jackson said, "It was the first time she's had a pitchy performance on the show. Was it the right key?"  Mariah Carey added, "She thought she should've been at the piano singing "I'll Be There".
