Christian Radio Host John Balyo Charged for Trying to Solicit Underage Children for Sex

A Christian radio show host named John Balyo faces child-sex charges after he was arrested on Friday for being a customer in a sex trade operation.

According to USA Today the arrest was made at a Christian music festival in Michigan, where he was host on WCSG Radio. The official charge stands as, first degree criminal sexual assault.

Authorities allege that the radio host paid another person involved with the case to arrange sexual meetings with children.

The entire radio station was in shock at his behavior, and he is currently on paid leave, "Effective today, John Balyo is no longer affiliated with WCSG Radio," Cornerstone University released in a statement. The school hosted the campus radio station.

USA Today reported that Balyo will not be charged with trafficking, but in working with and using someone involved in the crime, "I think the terminology would be a 'John' - that in itself is not going to be human trafficking," said Chris Johnson, an expert on human trafficking, "The person he went to in order to secure the child would be the one who would be guilty of human trafficking."

The man Balyo was accused of working with is Ronald Lee Moser, also from Michigan. The accused ran a website where he was offering sex with underage boys. During a police raid of Moser's home they found him with a 12-year-old boy, child pornography, and a client list which included the radio host's name.

"Many times when you do have a brothel that's raided, you do end up finding child victims, unfortunately, that are involved in the commercial sex trade. ... According to the Department of Justice, the average age a person enters prostitution in the United States is between the age of 11 and 13 years old, so there is quite a prevalence of people who have sexual appetites with children," continued Johnson to USA Today.

It is unclear whether any evidence of Balyo's secret life was found in his home.
