Final Film in the Acclaimed Finger of God/Furious Love Trilogy FATHER OF LIGHTS Available on DVD October 15

Filmmaker Darren Wilson and Wanderlust Productions are preparing for the DVD release of FATHER OF LIGHTS, the epic conclusion in their Finger of God/Furious Love trilogy, on October 15.  These beloved documentaries have built a loyal global fanbase as they delve into the mystery of God, through the eyes of the faithful in all corners of the world.

In a literal sense, champions of the films made FATHER OF LIGHTS possible. In April of 2012, the filmmakers were compelled to take a risk and seek crowd-sourced funding through the Kickstarter website. Initially, Wanderlust sought a modest $15,000 to complete the documentary and launch a FATHER OF LIGHTS pre-release tour. Through an incredible grassroots movement, supporters contributed an impressive $150,000, propelling the possibilities of the film to heights beyond the filmmaker's dreams.

FATHER OF LIGHTS chronicles the journey of Wilson and his team as they fearlessly travel the globe, far from the daily existence of the typical evangelical believer in the West.  By thoughtfully documenting the stories of extraordinary believers and candidly filming miracles, visions and other supernatural occurrences, Wilson engages viewers in modern day examples of the true nature and character of God.

For example, the filmmakers follow a man in India who is given daily audible direction from God.  They encounter Christians who have been physically tortured for their faith in Pakistan. They spend time with an American family who left a prosperous life to care for disabled orphans in China.  Wilson and his team even have a supernatural experience of healing in Israel, that led them to a once-in-a-lifetime adventure at the Dome of the Rock.

Wilson gives honest access to his own spiritual questions as he tackles the religious misconceptions he has struggled with throughout his life.  "I went into making this film by asking the simple question: who is God? I wanted to know His character, His personality, and who He truly is. To answer this question, we had to peel back the many layers of religious garbage that has been passed onto him through generations. That He is angry. Vengeful. Wrathful. And in general, that He doesn't like you very much. The truth, as you will see vibrantly in this film, is that He is the most loving, compassionate, and wonderful Father you can imagine."

As a way of saying thank you to the incredible show of support the film received through it's fundraising campaign, Wanderlust Productions created the "FATHER OF LIGHTS TOUR" that spanned 40 cities across the U.S. as well as in Australia and Canada, screening the film to over 30,000 people.  Ten more events are scheduled for the remainder of this year, including 4 stops in the Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

"I hope FATHER OF LIGHTS can be a call to the church to stand up and finally do what we have been called to do around the world," continues Wilson.  "If we aren't going to love the world around us, if we don't bring freedom with us, then we are simply another religion, lumped in with the rest of them.  But first, of course, we need to understand who we truly are and what we have at our disposal.  The truth is, the light of the world resides within us.  And we have but one Father."
