Christian Bale News, New Films: Backs Out Of Upcoming Steve Jobs Biopic
New reports claim that Christian Bale will not be playing in the upcoming biopic about Apple Co-founder Steve Jobs. Apparently, 'The Dark Knight' actor realized that he "wasn't right for the job."
The biographical film will be directed by Oscar-winning and 'Slumdog Millionaire' director Danny Boyle, written by 'The Social Network' writer Aaron Sorkin, and produced by Scott Rudin, Mark Gordon, and Guymon Casady.
Sorkin first announced that Bale would be playing Jobs on Oct. 23 via Bloomberg TV, and attests to his acting prowess, saying that the 40-year old actor didn't require an audition.
"We needed the best actor on the board in a certain age range and that's Christian Bale. He didn't have to audition. Well, there was a meeting," the writer said.
"It's an extremely difficult part and he's gonna crush it," Sorkin added.
Sorkin also revealed that the movie will have three long scenes, each taking place backstage before one of Apple's famous product launches: the original Macintosh in 1984, the arrival of NeXT, and the first iPod launch in 2001.
'The Dark Knight Rises' actor Christian Bale withdrew from the lead role of the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic which will supposedly begin filming this Winter.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bale, after careful deliberation and conflicting feelings, came to realize that he was not right for the part and decided to quit.
Meanwhile, other high-profile actors have likewise rejected the offer to play the starring role in the Steve Jobs biopic like 'The Great Gatsby' actor Leonardo di Caprio, who chose to film 'The Renevant' instead.
