'Christ the Lord Out of Egypt' Novel Gets Movie Adaption in September; 'Year of the Bible' Continues with Mary, Joseph, and Jesus' Journey to Nazareth

Hollywood's 'Year of the Bible' will continue as new film "Christ the Lord" is set to release this September through Ocean Blue Entertainment.

According to ChristianHeadlines, the film will be based off the Anne Rice novel of the same name. She is mainly known for her book series The Vampire Chronicles.

The full name, "Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt," chronicles Jesus, Mary, and Joseph's trek from Egypt to Nazareth, Israel., where the Son of God would grow up.

Enzo Sisti, who produced "The Passion of the Christ," will be the film's executive producer. Cyrus Nowrasteh has been selected as director.

2014 has seen many Christian films hit the big screen. "Son of God," which was based off "The Bible" miniseries, "Noah," "God's Not Dead," "Heaven is For Real," the upcoming "Left Behind," and the recently announced "Exodus: God and Kings" as well as "David and Goliath."

"The Bible" series had an incredible draw of 11 million viewers per week, and Pew Research stated that there are 91 million evangelical Christians in America alone. This makes it a huge market for tickets sales in theaters and DVD for years to come.

In an earlier report by BreatheCast, it was cited that Hollywood does not have to worry with presenting a new story or a new character to their audience. The Biblical accounts are well known stories that people are familiar with and already compelled by. There are endless action heroes in its pages and unlike comic books the source material for the Bible is public domain, so there is no licensing fee required. This makes everything less expensive and strenuous for the studios to use.

As long of the 'Year of the Bible' continues to be profitable in Hollywood, the movies will keep coming.
