Chris Tomlin Readies for Sold-Out Concert at Madison Square Garden Tonight

Tonight, Christian rocker Chris Tomlin will take the stage with Louie Giglio and Kari Jobe as his Burning Lights Tour rolls through New York. The sold-out concert at Madison Square Garden starts at 7:30 p.m.

"Really excited about concert tonite in NYC at Madison Square Garden," Tomlin said via Twitter. "I FEEL ALIVE, I COME ALIVE, I AM ALIVE ON GOD'S GREAT DANCE FLOOR."

Selling out Madison Square Garden - one of the largest and most prestigious venues in the country - is just testament to Tomlin's increasingly broad appeal: Burning Lights, the album, became only the fourth Christian rock album to top Billboard 200 chart.

"Your music is about something bigger thing than yourself," Tomlin said in an interview with the Baltimore Sun. "[Other] entertainers, it's about putting on a great show, it's about 'me, me, me, me, me, check me out, look at me, I want to entertain you'...I think that for us, the music is bringing hope for people, its bringing songs of faith in amid the world of fear."

In an effort to touch more souls with the message of hope and faith, Tomlin is careful to put on a show that will appeal to the masses - regardless of age or status.

"That's what's so amazing about this worship music," he said in the interview. "I think it really hits people where they are at all different ages and places in life.

"I think people have a misconception of who God is, and the church, and that's not any part of our concert," Tomlin said in the interview. "It's going to be a crazy night. At the ending of the night, the whole place will be one massive dance floor."
