Chris Pratt Is Harvard's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year, Amy Poehler Awarded Woman of the Year
Chris Pratt and Amy Poehler are set to be awarded the 2015 Man and Woman of the Year by Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
Hasty Pudding is the oldest theater organization in the United States and their Man and Woman of the Year awards are presented every year to performers who "made a lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment."
This year, the organization are awarding "Parks and Recreation" co-stars Pratt and Poehler as their Man and Woman of the Year.
Pratt is known for starring in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" and voicing Emmet in "The Lego Movie." His next film is Universal's "Jurassic World" coming out in June.
"We vehemently deny that the members of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals are obsessed with 'Parks and Recreation,'" said Jason Hellerstein, the president of Hasty Pudding, "Joking aside, Chris Pratt's recent achievements as an actor are outstanding and we could not be more thrilled to host him and celebrate his talent."
Poehler, on the other hand, is known for co-hosting the Golden Globes and being the executive producer of "Broad City." She also released a book titled "Yes Please." Her next appearances will be in Pixar's "Inside Out," where she voices Joy, and comedy series "Sisters."
Hellerstein stated, "She is an accomplished performer, incredible comedian, and an inspiration to everyone in the Hasty Pudding. We look forward to welcoming Ms. Poehler and celebrating and honoring her achievements in a truly unique and memorable way."
Past recipients of the award are Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and last year's recipients Hellen Mirren and Neil Patrick Harris.
Pratt and Poehler will be receiving their Pudding Pot at a celebratory roast to be held at the Hasty Pudding home in Farkas Hall in Harvard Square. Poehler will be awarded on Jan. 29 and Pratt on Feb. 6.
