Apparently Chris Brown's dad, Clinton, didn't approve of his son ever dating pop star diva Rihanna. Well that's a relief.

How Chris Brown, Rihanna and on-again, off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran is at all newsworthy is beyond me. But here we go.

A statement from Chris Brown's dad Clinton:

"I personally really didn't want him and Rihanna back together." Clinton toldthe Daily News. "You have to have a balance in a relationship. You have to have someone who is spontaneous and whimsical but you also have to have someone who is grounded and logical."

Clinton later predicted his son's relationship with Rihanna would most likely end in tragedy, possibly death. He compared the outcome with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse.

When asked who he thought would be a good match for Chris Brown, Clinton answered former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks.

"I personally liked Jordin Sparks. She's a wholesome young lady, very pretty," he told the newspaper."

Clinton obviously isn't blind and understand why and how his son would be attracted to the "Diamonds" singer.

"She's beautiful, she's exotic, she's successful," he admitted.

Rihanna recently posted pictures of her kissing another man at a nightclub. Will Chris Brown's fists feel the need to send another message? Though Brown's dad, Clinton took his son's side, you can't help but fear for Rihanna a bit.
