Chris Brown News: R&B Star Officially Off Probation, Rihanna Domestic Abuse Case Finally Closed

Singer/songwriter Chris Brown finally gets to put his tarnishing domestic abuse case behind him after six long years. Brown is now off the hook legally, as of Friday having served his full probation sentence.

"The attack erased Brown's squeaky clean image, which he has failed to regain in the ensuing years after incidents such as throwing a chair through a window after a contentious 'Good Morning America' interview and a parking lot brawl with singer Frank Ocean. Brown's career has partially rebounded, with the singer performing at the 2012 Grammy Awards and winning a trophy for best R&B album," writes Huffington Post.

The singer reportedly hugged his attorney twice after the hearing from excitement and let all of his fans know of his new status of a free man tweeting:

"IM OFF PROBATION!!!!!!!! Thank the Lord!!!!!!"

"He is in a spot right now and a place right now that I couldn't be prouder of him," Brown's attorney stated.

Brown's probation prevented him to further his career in many ways, but mainly by disallowing him to travel to other countries.

It was also a time for the performer to discover a lot of things regarding himself.

"As part of his sentence, Brown was required to undergo domestic violence counseling. Brandlin also ordered Brown into rehab, which resulted in the singer being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and complications from substance abuse," writes Huffington Post.
