Chinese-American Rapper MC Jin Celebrates Hitting 6% Over the Top on His PledgeMusic Campaign
Multi-talented hip-hop artist and actor Jin Au-Yeung, most commonly known as MC Jin, has announced, on his Twitter and Facebook account, the success of his PledgeMusic Campaign for his album entitled 14:59. As of August 01, 2014, his project is already at 106% and still has 79 days until its release date.
The premise of the project is quite engaging and appealing to his ever-growing fan base. In one of his comments he stated that instead of saying "here's my album, buy it," he wanted his fans to become a part of the journey, "from the creative process to the final release." Here's a full clip of the announcement:
Ever since he has made his appearance on the hip-hop scene, Jin has already racked up a staggering list of accomplishments including him becoming the first Asian-American artist to sign a deal with the major label Ruff Ryders. Prior to that, MC Jin was able to establish his cred to the industry during his times with BET's '106 & Park' winning seven straight Freestyle Friday bouts.
Although much of his monumental success both in music and acting were achieved during his four year stay in Hong Kong, what Jin found there was more than fame and money could offer - a renewed spirit. In most of his talks, he emphasized the importance of his career's upsurge and downfall in his rediscovery of the Christian faith.
Upon his return to New York, Jin Au-Yeung has spoken about his aim to fully refocus his hip-hop career towards a more Christ-centric goal which is already quite evident in his music and community interactions.
