Cheryl Fernandez-Versini News: Cheryl Cole First Britsh Female Artist With Five No. 1 Singles
British singer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is reportedly on her way to be the first British female artist to have five No. 1 solo singles according to UK Midweek charts.
Beyond that, reports speculate that her performance on the 'X-Factor' had a major influence on her topping the charts.
Fernandez-Versini also posted on her Instagram sharing her excitement about the results. "WOW. So we're no1 on the official mid week chart. do you know what that means !!!!! that means we could be making history this weekend of it stays there !!!" the singer and 'X-Factor' judge wrote.
The former Girls Aloud singer's latest single "I Don't Care," which was one that topped the charts, recently gained a lot of online traffic when the singer performed it on the 'X-Factor' stage.
Several online websites claimed that she was lip syncing which was unfair since she was judging the contestants of the show based on their vocals.
Additionally, a Twitter war sparked when one user commented on Fernandez-Versini's post saying "Do we get discount on your mimed performance you did on sat? @cherylofficial."
But what shocked many was the singer's direct reply saying, "aww bless you live performances are not included on albums I'm afraid. And I performed on Sunday ! Don't mug yourself off on my page. It's not cute. Go teach some dance instead," Versini said.
However, the UK midweek charts didn't seem to mind when Versini's single topped the charts.
Her other four songs that topped the charts previously include "Fight For This Love," "Promise This," "Call My Name," and "Crazy Stupid Love." So far Fernandez-Versini waits for the weekend to come so she could finally put an end to her anxiety and become the first British female artist to land five number one singles which would slam the records of Rita Ora and Geri Halliwell who are both currently holding four No. 1 singles.
