Chelsea Transfer Rumors: Petr Cech May Leave Club Following Mourinho’s ‘Silent Snub’
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is likely to leave the club following manager Jose Mourinho's 'silent treatment' over being dropped.
Although Mourinho has been publicly saying otherwise, he did not talk to Cech before making the decision to keep Thibahut Courtois as his No. 1 goalkeeper. In fact, Peter Cech was severely disappointed when Mourinho snubbed him silently on this manner.
Cech had trained throughout the Summer following shoulder surgery to retain his No. 1 slot.
Cech, who has now become a sort of legend in Chelsea, was kept in the dark by his manager who made Thibaut Courtois his No. 1 keeper.
On the other hand, Courtois said that he only learned that he would be starting at Turf Moor just 60 minutes prior to the kick off. This move came as a harsh blow for Cech, who has been the No. 1 keeper of Chelsea for the past decade.
According to latest reports, this has left Cech's future at Stamford Bridge in grave doubt, as Paris Saint Germain and Monaco leading the horde of European clubs that are keen to sign in Cech this Summer.
The truth is that Cech will not face any shortage of offers as he is still ranks among the best keepers in the world.
While Mourinho still insists that he wants Cech to stay and fight for his place, the chances of his continued play with Chelsea are slim. Courtois has been delaying signing a new five-year contract with Chelsea until he is sure that he would continue to be the club's No. 1 keeper.
Meanwhile, Mourinho has had a busy Summer bringing in several impressive new signings, including Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis as he readies for the title. In addition, former Blue Didier Drogba has also joined the club again.
