Cheerios Commercial 'Controversy' Returns as Biracial Family Looks to Welcome a New Addition to the Family (VIDEO)

A new Cheerios commercial aired during Super Bowl XLVIII and featured a multiracial family; an African-American man, his Caucasian wife and their little daughter Gracie. In the previous Cheerios commercial, some people were so offended by the first video, YouTube had to deactivate its comment section.

The fictional interracial family returned in the new Super Bowl Cheerios commercial and the original cast returned for the second commercial including the young actress Grace Colbert.

"Once you get on commercials and movies, you'll be a movie star and I don't say this, but a commercial star," said the seven-year-old actress to Oklahoma's News On 6.

The young Colbert just like her Gracie character in the Cheerios commercials, was born into a biracial family including a Black father and a White mother.

"Maybe, I'm thinking that they like my hair... and my smile," said Colbert to News On 6 referring to the first Cheerios commercial's popularity.

In the new Cheerios commercial, Gracie has a discussion with her TV dad when he tells her that her mother is pregnant by using Cheerios as a visual to explain the family's future addition. At the end of the commercial, young Gracie proves she is wise beyond her years when she successfully convinces her father to buy a puppy, much to the surprise of her TV mother.

"We fell in love with this family," said Camille Gibson, vice president of marketing for Cheerios to CBS MoneyWatch. "We thought the big game provided an opportunity to tell a story about family love."

Colbert explained her goals in her young acting career.

"Every girl's dream is to watch TV, get popcorn, candy and drink soda," said Colbert in a News On 6 interview.
