Charleston Shooting Update: Beyonce Shows Her Support for the Victims
Beyonce, 33-year-old pop star, is speaking out and showing her support of the nine victims who lost their lives during the Charleston Church shooting on June 18th.
While many people are discussing the name of the gunman, Beyonce makes it clear that our attention should be refocused to those who passed away.
Beyonce added her message to fans on her personal website.
She shared a picture of the church with a black white and drop back, and while she has all of the names written out, she also included a video version of the list.
"Rev. Clementa Pickney, Rev. Sharonda Coleman Singleton, Rev. Depayne Middleton Doctor, Cynthia Hurd, Susie Jackson, Ethel Lance, Tywanza Sanders, Myra Thomas, and Rev. Daniel Simmons Sr."
On her Instagram page, she shared the video and then shared and expressed her love and support in the captions.
"My heart is with the families, loved ones and all of those affected by the senseless tragedy in Charleston. They will rest in feature," said Beyonce.
After the shooting, celebrities and political figures shared their thoughts over social media.
Solange Knowles, Beyonce's sister, also spoke out about the situation on Twitter. "My heart is truly with you to the folks who lost loved ones Charleston. My heart is truly with you, word," said Solange.
President Barack Obama, also had something to say, stating, "There is something particularly heartbreaking about death happening in a place in which we seek solace."
Kerry Washington and Hillary Clinton also spoke out.
