Castle Season 7 Spoilers, Release Date: Creator Marlowe Drops Out, It's 'Over' for Braken
A change in showrunners could drastically transform a TV series, especially one as dramatic as ABC's Castle. Fans have become concerned with where the show is headed after hearing that creator Andrew W. Marlow handed over control of the series.
ABC has replaced the top spot on the show's production team with David Amann for Castle Season 7. While, Marlowe is still part of the show's inner workings, his responsibilities on the program have significantly decreased. His wife and writer for Castle, Terri Edda Miller, reassured worried fans over Twitter, "For those expressing concern: @andrewmarlowe & I aren't leaving #Castle. Still here full time [for season seven]. Amann's just assuming more responsibility," Miller tweeted.
Promise to keep the storyline intact may satisfy concerned viewers, but questions about Bracken are still looming. Fans continue to wonder about the odd senator who caused Castle's car accident back in Season 6. Marlowe had this to say on the matter, "The Bracken arc is pretty much over," adding,"We know who [killed Johanna], Beckett has gotten justice ... If there is any future storytelling with Senator Bracken, it would be breaking new ground and not going back to revisit the old ghosts," he said to TVLine.
As the final episode in Season 6 focused on Castle's explosive car accident, Marlowe confirmed that's where the show will continue, come Season 7.
"We feel like, given the way we left off, we have an obligation to start exactly where we ended," he told TVLine, "So we'll be picking up in real time."
All Castle seasons have released between September 18 and September 25, barring the Season 1, so speculation rests that Season 7 will air around the same time this year.
