‘Castle’ Season 7 Premiere Date, Spoilers: Castle is Alive, New 'Invisible' Killer

As 'Castle' Season 7 airs on ABC, fans will notice that the series picks up from the car crash that concluded Season 6 in the finale. Also, a new killer is set to appear when the story continues in the next installment.

According to reports, Rick Castle will be recuperating after the crash that was supposedly orchestrated by Bracken and 3X.

David Amann, the new Executive Producer of the show, offered fans some insight into what to expect in Season 7 of the show. He revealed during the Television Critics Association summer press tour that Castle and Beckett will showcase some romance this season.

Amann had this to say about the productions team's view about the Castle-Beckett relationship, "We are as committed to their relationship as Castle and Beckett are -- they are deeply in love and they have overcome a great many challenges already. So whatever [has happened] is not going to tear them apart. If anything, it will make them stronger."

Beyond that, the new killer will be a tough criminal to catch, Amann said, "[Castle & Beckett] deal with what seems to be an invisible killer -- and the characters take a lot of pleasure in that."

Andrew Marlowe, creator of 'Castle' who currently writes for and produces the show, mentioned that no major storyline changes will happen between the two characters. However, an inquisition about Castle's kidnapping is something that the both of them will have to face together.

"We're not looking to significantly alter the trajectory of their relationship or pull the rug out from under the audience. We're looking to open up some really interesting aspects of storytelling for the Castle character, who hasn't been as deeply explored as Beckett over the past six years -- and we're really excited by that opportunity," Marlowe said.

Recent reports claimed that Marlowe is leaving the show, but that has since been confirmed as false. Amann is merely taking a healthier and more prominent role in the show's course. As fans were worried about the plan or direction of the show after Amann takes hold, the production teams assured that the original 'Castle' vision remains intact.

The seventh season of 'Castle' will premiere on Sept. 29 on ABC.
