Casting Crowns Release Acoustic Album, Get K-Love Awards Nomination & Make Cameo in New Movie
The award winning Christian band, Casting Crowns has had an incredibly busy year with wrapping up production of their latest DVD "Ring The Bell", releasing their latest album, and also receiving two music awards, while beginning to go on tour.
The certified Platinum band has been on the set of "Ring The Bell", a new movie that is about a eager Sports recruiter trying to get a small town baseball star to the major leagues. The band performed on set of the movie by having an actual concert for the residents of the town and play a key role in the Sports Recruiters faith.
Among being on set of a movie, Casting Crowns has also been nominated by two awards shows- K-LOVE and Billboard for both Group/Dup of the Year and Artists of the Year.
The Billboard music awards will air Live on Sunday, May 19 and the K-LOVE awards will be aired on June 1. The award winning band has captured the hearts of all Christians since the beginning of Casting Crowns in 1999. With already selling more then 5 million records, the band is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Casting Crowns recently just released their new acoustic album that features their favorite songs that have been completely stripped down to just the stories and meaning of the song. "We really are just rediscovering some songs in a way that I think will be very special and I hope you guys really enjoy it" stated lead singer Mark Hall. "When you make a major record, to me, I always I thought that one day we were going to strip this down to acoustic guitars and just take it how we first wrote it. I think there is something really honest about just taking a song back to those stories, lyrics, and really just finding where those songs came out of."
The album is a 10-track project that will feature songs as "Perfect in This Storm", "We are The Body"," East and West" and a bonus of two new songs from the band.
Casting Crowns just finished up their tour doing 18 shows in support of The Acoustic Sessions Volume 1. The tour kicked of on March 14 in Williamsport, Virginia and had guest artist Dara Maclean singing along with the band as well.
The intimate new album will capture the essence of really being a believer in Christ and digging deep to find where the inspiration for such love comes from. The tour has already sold out plenty of venues for the Volume 1 Tour and will end on May 30. For ticket information and band information go to their website HERE.
