Carman Set To Launch Major Comeback With New Music, Video, Tour Following Outpouring Of Support By Fans; Kickstarter Campaign Raises $538,103
Enigmatic Christian music pioneer Carman launched a Kickstarter campaign April 19 with the goal to raise $200,000 for his first new album and music video in over 10 years. Following the campaign's end June 18, $538,103 was raised, more than doubling his goal and solidly becoming the second most successful Kickstarter music project ever. The campaign not only fully funds Carman's new album and theatrical, movie-like music video being planned now, but also enables him to launch his first major, full production tour in over 13 years. For those that still want to contribute, but missed out on the Kickstarter campaign, donations are being accepted through Carman World Outreach at CarmanTV.com.
Holding attendance records from the 80s and 90s for the largest solo Christian concerts in history, the music and videos from Carman have always been the catalyst for bringing the message and hope of the gospel to the masses. With a major market tour across the U.S. being planned now, Carman's fans have breathed life back into his ministry.
"Can you say 'nothing is impossible' with God," says Carman to his Kickstarter backers. "You have not only given me my ministry back, but have restored my life following my cancer diagnosis. Through your prayers and words of encouragement, I'm ready to battle again. And because of your support, there is enough money to record, as well as bring full production into venues for the tour."
While on tour, Carman will share new music he is writing now alongside his hit songs and most recent offering, "The Flag," a compelling anthem that weaves the Pledge of Allegiance into a melodic and inspirational message of pride in America. "The Flag" concept video can be seen now at http://youtu.be/Bp8E9pov0Jo, and Carman's latest tour schedule can be seen at http://www.carmanlive.com/.
With media outlet like Huffington Post, Washington Post, Religion News Service, Associated Press Radio, RELEVANT,Tulsa World, Charisma, USA Radio Network, CCM Magazine, NewReleaseTuesday.com, Christian Post, American Family Radio and many more covering him these last few months, the process that led to the launch of the Kickstarter campaign began February 14 of this year as Carman was diagnosed with terminal, multiple myeloma cancer, a cancer of the blood that affects the body's bone marrow. Stunned and initially devastated by the news, Carman's spirit was soon lifted up by the overwhelming love and support received by tens of thousands of fans after posting the news on his Facebook page. He is now determined to fight the cancer and is turning the death sentence into a renewed vision and hope for the future.
With 16 RIAA Certified Platinum and Gold albums and videos and over 10 million albums sold, Carman is meeting with producers and planning to record the new album and music video. Remarkably, it was a death sentence by doctors that paradoxically revived this entertainer's creative spirit through his fans.
