It's been a long week-and-a-half since CCM legend Carman first announced that he had been diagnosed with Myeloma cancer. He posted the news on his Facebook page but, since then, had been completely silent.

Then Sunday evening, in the wake of thousands of messages of prayer and support from his fans, Carman posted his first update, via Facebook:

Dear Friends and Family:

These past 2 weeks you've all officially graduated to family in my book. I still can not believe the outpouring of Love in these posts, messages and testimony's I've received from you. I thought I'd get a few hundred posts and it would all disappear in a couple days. Boy was I wrong ! I'm shocked in the best way possible. Since you've asked how I'm feeling and for updates I'll give you the inside scoop: I feel ok if I get enough sleep. With Myeloma Cancer it attacks your immune system and makes you vulnerable to every sickness floating around. So proper rest is key.

Regarding his official treatment, Carman wrote that he will receive the results from his bone biopsy and new blood tests on Wednesday afternoon. He will then travel to Ohio March 4-6 for a thorough examination before determining the exact course he will pursue.

And, in typical, brutally transparent Carman fashion, he also let fans in on another source of concern for him over the past days:

The one big heartbreak I've had was that my 89 year old Mom broke her back in a fall and cannot care for herself anymore. My problematic sister, Nancy (we all have one) a pastor at place called Sonlight (last name and city withheld ) volunteered To take her in after 22 years of being MIA. Fantastic, finally ! So I broke Moms lease and sold her car. But I have one of those "my way or the highway" siblings. And since she couldn't get the control she insisted on, at the last minute she abandoned all care for her and literally just walked away, again. But this time it was in the worse possible season of my life. However my sister-in-Law Sandy came up to the plate and saved the day by taking Mom in with 24 hr. care. What a life saver and a true Saint.
