Carly-Rae Jepsen, the "Call Me Maybe" Canadian Pop Star, has officially cancelled her upcoming performance in July at the 2013 National Scouting Jamboree in West Virginia over the Boy Scout's ban on gay members.

Jepsen, 27, went to twitter to give some insight on her decision saying, "As an artist who believes in equality for all people, I will not be participating in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree this summer. "I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level, and stay informed on the ever changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe." 

The Boy Scouts of America are currently reviewing their policy, which is over 100 years old, on not allowing gay members. They are planning to announce their decision in May on whether or not to hold up their ban. Grammy Award winning band, Train, who is also scheduled to headline the Jamboree, have said they will wait to hear the Boy Scouts decision in May before they officially make a call on whether to perform or not. They claim they were not aware of the Boy Scouts ban on gay members when they booked the event. 

Jepsen is currently on the "Believe" tour with Justin Bieber who is an outspoken Christian and just recently was promoting his pastor Judah Smith's new book called, "Jesus is ___" on Instagram and twitter. Carly herself has stayed quiet on her personal religious beliefs to the public.
