Two of the best young pitchers will take the mound tonight when the St. Louis Cardinals host the Arizona Diamondbacks at 8:15 ET. The visiting Diamondbacks are sending lefty Tyler Skaggs to the hill to face against Michael Wacha of the St. Louis Cardinals.

21-years old, out of Woodland Hills, California, Tyler Skaggs quickly moved his way up the ladder for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He's got a curveball, a fastball in the 90s and a changeup in the low-mid 80s. His minor league ERA was a little bloated do to errors in fielding and high-allowed batting average with runners on base. Still, with great command over his pitches, the kid can throw.

In Skagg's first start for the season, he only gave up three hits in six innings against a powerful Cardinals lineup.

Michael Wacha is the newest young arm out of the Cardinals' pitching factory. Wacha's ERA, after one career MLB start, is 1.29. However, his only appearance came against the offensively plagued Kansas City Royals. To stay relevant he'll have to post better than 6 strikeouts per nine innings like he was in Triple-A.

At 37-19, the Cardinals have the best record in the MLB. They're 2-8 in their last 10 games. However the Cardinals rank number 13 in the MLB against left-handed pitchers, hitting just .218, only winning roughly half of their games.
