Monday night features an excellent MLB 2013 matchup between the visiting Chicago Cubs and home team St. Louis Cardinals. Shelby Miller is on the mound for the Cardinals, hoping to continue his terrific run.

First of all is anyone in Chicago even watching this game. Cubs fans are obviously supporting their Blackhawks in what's bound to be another epic NHL Finals game. Anyways back to the MLB.

Miller (7-4, 2.21) is one of the better pitchers on the best rotation in baseball. Before giving up 4 runs in the 9^th in a loss against the Mets, the Cubs had won three in a row.

Miller's one weak spot is giving up hits in the 1^st inning. Miller is allowing opposing hitters a .357 batting average in the 1^st inning of his starts.

"I don't necessarily know what it is, but I'm going to go back and watch film through those first couple of innings to see if there is something I can pick up," Miller told the Cardinals' official website.

Travis Wood (5-5, 2.65) will combat Miller and the surging Cardinals on the mound for the Cubs. Though Wood has been the surprise lefty presence in the Cubs rotation he's lost both of his last starts, mainly due to lack of run support though.
