"Captain Phillips" Movie Trailer: Tom Hanks Leads the Cast of "Captain Phillips" Through an Intense Rescue Story [SPOILERS] [TRAILER]

Tom Hanks and the rest of the cast of "Captain Phillips" team up to make this movie one of the wildest rides of the fall season even if the movie is based on a true story and the ending is public knowledge.  Director Paul Greengrass (United 93) does an excellent job of making the audience forget that they know what happens to Captain Richard Phillips, portrayed by Tom Hanks, in this marine thriller. The rescue story follows Captain Phillips and his crew on a container ship that gets hijacked by Somalian pirates. Things get interesting when the American Navy responds with a full out assault in an attempt to get the American boat and crew back.

Ty Burr from the Boston Globe writes, "If 'Captain Phillips' hints at the enormity of the gulf separating the First and Third worlds, the film is mostly concerned with depicting the conflict between the two as it centers around one container ship that made the mistake separating from the pack. After a brief opening scene in Vermont (and a glimpse of Catherine Keener as the captain's wife), the movie takes us through the loading of the Alabama and the functional monotony of casting off from the Port of Salalah, Oman. These scenes contrast with those set in a coastal Somali village as the minions of a local warlord impress idle fisherman into motorboats at gunpoint."

"Captain Phillips" proves to be a nail-biting experience from front to back and is not for the feint of heart. Tom Hanks gives an award winning performance in "Captain Phillips" and truly makes the movie an intense, personal adventure.
