'Captain America: Civil War' News: William Hurt Talks General Ross
'Captain America: Civil War' will serve to introduce a whole host of new characters that haven't yet been inducted into the MCU, however it will also serve to reintroduce some characters that haven't officially been represented.
One of these characters has been announced to be General Ross, a character that hasn't been seen since the last 'Incredible Hulk.' At the end of that movie, viewers saw him in a depressed state after losing the battle against the gamma-ray enhanced beast.
In a recent interview with IGN, actor William Hurt speaks on how the 'Civil War' version of his character will differ from how we last saw him.
"I loved playing Ross the first time because I was able to try and create an ego as big as the monster he was chasing. And one that was as warped too," he said. "[Ross in Civil War] is different because it's a different style. It's a more modernized style. And what they've done is they've taken a character who was the Ross from the older film and made a new version. This is a much newer Ross. A much different Ross. And I liked that a lot. I haven't had a lot of time to understand it, but I'm doing the best I can. And they haven't fired me yet."
In the comics, Ross becomes the Hulk's most formidable adversary after becoming the Red Hulk. Its unknown if the film will approach that angle, or if they're ready to even introduce such a character yet, but its definitely on the table.
'Captain America: Civil War' arrives in theaters on May 6, 2016.
