Captain America 3 Release Date May 2016 Batman vs Superman Premiere Date Dropped Back
Marvel Studios rival DC Comics announced that their forthcoming movie, 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice', is slated to premiere on May 6, 2016, the exact same day Marvel's 'Captain America 3' had been scheduled to premiere, however this has since been changed.
In light of the common release date, Marvel president Kevin Feige affirmed that 'Captain America 3' remains unfazed about the imminent box office competition as it will not back down on its already announced premiere date.
Warner Bros. and DC Comics, however, announced on Wednesday, August 6th, that they have decided to move the also-highly anticipated movie, 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' to March 25th of 2016 instead of the original May date, presumably to avoid direct confrontation with the Russo brothers' 'Captain America 3' movie.
The 'Captain America 3' production team has managed to keep the movie's story plot under wraps despite the fact that the film's production has already been scheduled to start filming later this year. The Russo brothers, directors to the latest 'Captain America' sequel, however, divulged in a recent Yahoo Movies dialogue that the third installment will be focusing greatly on Captain America's alliance with the Winter Soldier.
Beyond that, reports claimed that Marvel creative officer Joe Quesada revealed that the American superhero is set to pass on his captain duties to another superhero in the Marvel comic books. If this is true then, there is a significant possibility that Steve Rogers may be passing on his Captain America duties to either Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier), or Sam Wilson (The Falcon) on the big screen, as he did on the superhero comic books to which the film series is largely based on.
'Captain America' actor Chris Evans has already suggested that he is interested in shifting careers from being the one in front of the camera, to be the one behind it. However, for now, these reports will remain as rumor until they are officially confirmed or denied.
