‘Captain America 3’ Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Chris Evans Teases Plot Mix with 'Avengers 2', Dismisses Quit Rumors

Chris Evans is having a relatively busy year as he works on two Marvel movies, 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and 'Captain America 3', while promoting 'Before We Go' at the Toronto International Film Festival. Evans dismissed rumors that Captain America is handing off his shield to either Bucky or Falcon.

The 33-year-old actor teased that the second sequel to 'Avengers' will connect with Captain America, but assured that Marvel Studios will not disappoint fans plot-wise. "That's the beauty of the Marvel Universe: it's this giant web of plot where everything is connected to everything else, whether it's Thor, Iron Man, the Avengers - everything is involved," he told MTV.

Joe Russo, one of the directors of the 'Captain America' movies, revealed that Steve Rogers' alter ego could be facing Red Skull in the third addition to the series. He added that Marvel has a diverse universe with all the different characters to test Cap's leadership skills.

Similarly, Russo said that the next 'Captain America' movie will introduce viewers to more complicated villains. While trying to avoid spilling a lot about Red Skull, he said, "It's our job on the next one to outdo the villain from the last one. But because that's a mandate of ours, it's always something we put an incredible amount of focus on. The stakes aren't high enough."

Anthony Russo told Collider that production will start April next year with a target release some time in 2016. Other casts include the mainstays like Sebastian Stan (Bucky), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow). Rumor has it that Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) will also be joining the gang as well as Robert Redford to portray Red Skull, but none of these rumors have been confirmed yet.
