Canon EOS 7D Mark II Release Date, Price, Features and Specs
Canon has just announced that EOS 7D Mark II will be available on market in November. Canon EOS 7D Mark II, one of the most anticipated and most highly discussed cameras, is an updated version of Canon's flagship APS-C DSLR.
With its predecessor released five years ago, photography enthusiasts have high expectations for the updated Canon 7D Mark II.
The 7D Mark II is said to be bigger, better, and faster compared to the first 7D, and it is dubbed a "fusion camera," which means it has the combined technology and features from other Canon cameras, like 5D Mark III and 70 D.
Based on the list of specs, it appears that 7D Mark II leans toward action or sports photographers and video enthusiasts as the target consumers.
Featuring a redesigned 20.2 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, as well as dual DIGIC 6 image processors, 7D Mark II will be able to achieve better photographic results. The range of the upcoming camera's ISO runs from 100 to 16,000, which is almost three times the previously achievable upper limit of 6,400 featured on the first 7D.
The dual DIGIC 6 processors are responsible for 7D Mark II's ability to capture 1080 JPG images, 31 RAW files and 19 RAW+JPG burst shots at 10 frames per second.
The Mark II version of 7D features refined mechanics, including a more efficient shutter drive motor as well as a "vibration dampened" mirror drive.
The said camera also features an all-new 65-point, all cross-type phase-detect autofocus system that enhances low-light focusing in the EV-3 range.
There is also an improvement in the camera's ability to capture videos, since it allows video recording in different formats, frame rates and resolutions. The camera also supports full HD 60p recording.
Canon Mark II 7D can be purchased for $1,799, but with the EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, it costs $2,149.
