Candice Glover, Kree Harrison on 'American Idol' 2013: Season 12 Performance Finale / Underdogs Sing Despite Rumors 'Idol' Judges Fired [VIDEO]
Season 12 of American Idol has definitely been one to remember. Despite rumors the Idol 2013 judges will be fired and replace after this season, the talent is better than ever.
Kree Harrison vs. Candice Glover. The showdown in tonight's performance finale will earn one of the singers a crown and another, tears. Tonight's episode is Candice and Kree's last shot at convincing America they should be named the next American Idol.
Angie Miller's elimination last week was one of the most shocking in Idol history. Was the song choice wrong? Was Angie too pretty? Was Jimmy Iovine right, did her performances feel too much like a beauty pageant? Who knows? Maybe America was just rooting for the underdogs.
Kree Harrison and Candice Glover definitely were the underdogs. Though both singers continued to receive praise from Idol judges Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey, Angie Miller was obviously a favorite. Ultimately it's up to America, and they chose Candice Glover and Kree Harrison.
But that's not all. Though tonight's episode is only one hour long [tomorrow's live results episode is two hours!] Idol producers still found a way to plug in a performance from Carly Rae Jepsen, who will premiere her new song "Take A Picture". The "Call Me Maybe" singer has been promoting the song via Idol during Coke ads throughout the season, encouraging viewers to submit their own lyrics for the song.
