Call of Duty Ghosts eSports Update and Onslaught DLC Now Available (TRAILER)

Call of Duty: Ghosts update adds eSports rules and other fixes through new patch download.

The update is for the two Sony consoles, the two Microsoft consoles, and the PC. So far there has been no word of a Wii U update. Polygon reported multiplayer and eSports will receive a performance enhancement.

For a full list of all the fixes, see the Call of Duty Community blog here.

Some of the fixes the patch will bring are balance changes to weapons, multiplayer updates, new ranks and customizable soldiers along with anti-cheat measures.

Call of Duty: Ghosts' newest DLC "Onslaught" will contain the first episode of Extinction, which will focus on an alien invasion at a research facility in Alaska.

The first Extinction episode is called Nightfall. Aliens are running wild over the scientist in the facility and the gamer has to come in and stop the hordes with their four piece team. Watch the trailer below.

Another portion of the DLC will allow gamers to play as iconic horror movie villain, Michael Meyers.

According to Polygon, one of the new maps has a level called Fog that pays homage to the classic Halloween movie. As the thick fog rolls on from across a lake to a cabin and campsite, a field order must be followed out for the slasher theme music to begin to play. It is then that the player will transform into Michael Meyers complete with mask and ax.

The DLC will also introduce other levels such as Bayview Map, Containment, and Ignition. Additionally, a new weapon called the Maverick will function as an assault rifle and sniper rifle.

Onslaught is $14.99 on the Xbox One and debuted on Jan. 28. Other platforms will get the DLC a bit later.
