GameSpot reported that the new maps are called Ruins, Collision, Behemoth, and Unearthed. Each of these maps takes place in a different part of the world. The Ripper can switch between types "on the fly" and is a powerful hybrid for the multiplayer maps.
Along with the DLC is Extinction Mode episode 2, Mayday. In part two, the players will board a Chinese research vessel and will be attacked by aliens and a 100 foot tall Kraken, reported GameSpot.
Ghosts' newest update went live this week on all of its platforms and will be looking to take better anti-cheat measures, a Free for All Fall multiplayer map, and LAN support for the Xbox One.
According to Polygon, the menu layout for the Microsoft consoles, Sony consoles, and Windows PC received a new menu layout as well as Hunted Free for All on the leaderboard. All the updates also include eSports upgrades and fixes.
Polygon reported that Extinction addressed cash exploits, explosive ammo range, and different matches.
The updates for the Wii U were a bit different, and focused more on "broken" elements of the game such as issues with throwing grenades, lobby migration, and leaderboard fixes in addition to various problems.
Activision is running a free demo trial of the game this weekend for the Xbox One and 360.
According to Digital Trends, the demo will feature three multiplayer maps from the original (DLC's not included) game, three multiplayer modes, and the first map of the new Extinction DLC.
Set to arrive March 7 at 10am PST, and end March 10, this gives players who did not purchase or are thinking of purchasing, a chance to test the game out.
