Call of Duty Elite Service Shutting Down This Friday, Activision Gives Double XP to Recent Log-ins
Call of Duty Elite will be shutting down on Friday for good, after initially launching in 2011 with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
According to Gamespot, Activision will not be bringing Elite back, and the service had been dwindling since last year, as it coincided with Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2. Activision is instead pushing the new Call of Duty app that works with Ghosts and future titles. The game developer is making up for the closure by rewarding everyone who has logged in since Jan. 1 with double XP in a two hour session.
