'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Story Trailer Reveals Details

The 'Call of Duty' franchise has always been an annual best-seller, one that even tops the 'Grand Theft Auto' series. However, Activision has recently been falling short of the expectations for their 'Call of Duty' games, especially with their most recent release, 'Call of Duty: Ghosts'.

The new studio, Sledgehammer games is looking to change all that with the newest installment in the franchise, 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare'.

The franchise is kicking things off by releasing a trailer for the game itself and then a story trailer, which gives hints on what the single-player campaign is offering.

First thing's first, the addition of Kevin Spacey as a facial and voice actor for the game only adds to its hype. The actor might be the most appealing factor for fans of the 'Call of Duty' first-person shooter franchise.

Spacey plays the role of the president of a private military organization called Atlas. According to the game trailer, Atlas has the largest standing army in the world, even more than the governments and agencies that hire them.

The game's story starts after a global terrorist attack cripples most of the world government's infrastructure and military. This is where the Atlas Corporation comes in and cleans up the mess that the terrorists have caused.

From the start, the game mostly focuses on the merits (and maybe demerits) of having power as the opening lines of the story trailer quotes Abraham Lincoln, "Nearly all men can stand diversity but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."

The franchise's new direction could be a welcome change since the last game 'Call of Duty: Ghosts', with its disappointing single-player and multi-player.

Graphics-wise, the game looks like it will come out on next-gen consoles, the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One.

The speculated release date for 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' is November 4 of this year.
