‘Call The Midwife’ Season 5 Premiere Date: New Episodes Confirms Season 6, Poplar Readies For Christmas
"Call the Midwife" fans are going to end 2015 happily with season 5, as the British drama has been renewed for a sixth season. Also, season 5 sees Poplar become ready for Christmas.
BBC announced earlier this week that "Call the Midwife" is set to have another batch of new episodes in 2017. This suggests that the upcoming episodes will be in for the sixth season or series of the show, according to Carter Matt.
Executive producer Pippa Harris told the publication that he was delighted that the BBC had decided to commission series six of "Call the Midwife" even before they had gone on air with series 5.
Harris also said that it had really demonstrated their commitment to and passion for the show. The executive producer added that the ongoing success of "Call the Midwife" was down to the incredible writing skills of Heidi Thomas and the talent and dedication of the show's wonderful cast and crew.
For the Harris, it is hoped that the audience would enjoy watching the fifth series, which she firmly believed as their strongest yet.
Meanwhile, an unexploded bomb is seen in Poplar, which is set to turn feasts into commotion, in "Call the Midwife" season 5 Christmas Special. According to BBC, the episode will also see Poplar in festive aura as it prepares for Christmas. A surprise for a lamenting mother gets Christmas back while Nonnatus is rocked when to the core when one of its own becomes lost.
"Call the Midwife" season 5 is set to premiere in the United States on Apr. 3, 2016 while season 6 premieres in spring 2017.
