Bryan Silva Dead? Death Hoax Rumors Hit Internet
A recent article on Huzlers.com stating that Vine Videos popular producer Bryan Silva was shot dead in Virginia has turned out to be a hoax.
Huzlers.com, in fact is a self-proclaimed satire site, and has been the source for various fake rumors in the past, especially death hoaxes. On previous occasions, the site produced hoax news such as Lil Terio's abduction, the killing of hip hop sensation Sharkeisha and several others.
Even though it presents the hoax news as authentic, Huzlers.com does feature a small disclaimer explaining that it is not a real news site. The about us section of the site says, "Huzlers.com is a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief."
This time, a report on the site said, "Around 11:00 a.m., Brian, 23, was gunned down just outside a doorway at 1840 W Broad St. He had been shot five times in the head, becoming the first Caucasian killed in the area for overusing the 'N' word."
It further added, "At the scene, Bryan's body remained where he fell with a white sheet covering for an extended amount of time and in view of his relatives. Their emotions shifting from shock, to sadness and then anger."
According to the fake article, Bryan Silva's body was discovered by Erick Harris, who is reported to have walked away from the scene in tears saying, "He was gonna be a star."
IdigitalTimes quotes Silva's father Michael Silva saying, "Many white people say the "N" word on a daily basis, Bryan didn't deserve this!"
But much to the relief of Silva's fans, the report turned out to be a big hoax.
Soon after the item appeared on the fake news site on Friday, it spread like wild fire on the Internet, especially on social media sites. Many believed that the Vine sensation had really been killed and started sharing the news and retweeting it. The death hoax was fake though and the star is alive and well.
