Brett Favre Jersey Retirement in Works with Green Bay Packers, Favre Apologizes
It is being reported that former Green Bay Packers quarterback and Super Bowl champion, Brett Favre, will be patching things up with his former team.
Favre left the Packers organization in 2007 when he announced his retirement from the NFL, and then re-entered the scene to find that his former team had moved forward and felt that it was time for him to leave the Packer organization. There were many hard feelings expressed by both parties in the break-up and both sides were some to blame for the situation.
Favre went to to play with the N.Y. Jets and then the Minnesota Vikings after that and led the Vikings to one bad penalty and interception away from the Super Bowl.
The Packers have expressed the desire to retire Favre's #4 jersey and want him to be present for the illustrious ceremony. Favre has expressed interest in being present at the ceremony and patching up any bad feelings that existed between them.
Favre has recently expressed his apologies to the Packers for his actions saying they both could've handled things better.
For the Packer faithful, this will truly be a glorious and eventful reunion. Many feel that enough time has passed to now make a genuine reconciliation possible between Favre and the Packers. It is hard for many not to think of Brett Favre as anything other than a Packer!
There are some who feel they have to choose between allegiance to Brett Favre or current Packer quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, who has since led the Packers to another Super Bowl victory.
The Packers will be announcing sometime in the near future when such a ceremony might take place. The Packers organization hopes it will be "all well" in Green Bay land with the fans when such an event comes to fruition!
What do you think, should they retire Favre's jersey now or wait a few more years?
