BREAKING NEWS: Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers Done For Season & NBA Career?

The Los Angeles Lakers played the Golden State Warriors last night in a big deciding game for the Lakers play off hopes.  With just over three minutes left in the game, Kobe made a move and with no contact to his leg from the opposing team went down.  He stayed on the court to hit his 2 free throws but was grimacing in pain.

After the game, speculation was that the Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant would be out for six to nine months after rupturing his Achilles tendon and today Lakers trainer Gary Vitti confirmed this.

Bryant had an MRI today and will undergo surgery, Vitti said the timetable for Bryant to be back will be next season, however these injuries can take up to a year to recover from.  Bryant,34, is in his 16th NBA season.

Bryant, who averages 27.3 points per game, reacted on Facebook after the injury when apparently he couldn't sleep.

Here is some of what his post said: "This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times! The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the hell did this happen ?!? Makes no damn sense. Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that??"I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me."Bryant went no to say, "One day, the beginning of a new career journey will commence. Today is NOT that day," he wrote.

His Facebook post has already received more than 356,000 likes.

Right after the game Kobe went to twitter and wrote, "I was just hoping it wasn't what I thought it was."

No one expects Kobe Bryant to end his NBA career like this, and it would be a huge surprise if he did not play in the NBA again.

The Lakers have two games left in the regular season, both at home and are one game ahead of the Utah Jazz for the final spot in the NBA's Western Conference playoffs.
