'Breaking Bad' Season 6 Rumors: New Season Big Hoax Exposed
Despite the fans raving for another 'Breaking Bad' season, the hit television series is not happening. Several news agencies have reported that the hit AMC drama would be returning for its sixth season which caused a lot of media traffic, but unfortunately, the reports were completely false.
It was the National Report that apparently spread the false rumors and gave fans false hope that the show will be returning. The title of the article says "Vince Gilligan Announces Breaking Bad Season 6; Begins Shooting Jan. 2015 - Walt Did Not Die!"
The report went on to falsify statements from director Vince Gilligan.
"Walter White is not dead, and neither is Breaking Bad," the report read, "We've kept it under wraps for months, now the cat's out of the bag. Season 6 is coming, and it's going to be epic and true to the fans that have followed the show so incessantly," a portion of the article reads.
Apparently the story was an instant sensation as it received almost 300,000 shares on Facebook. The story was confirmed to be false according to the site publisher himself.
"There are no flashing disclaimers and the stories are often subtle. The disclaimer is buried within the site and requires visitors to do actual research in order to determine whether a story is true or not (although simply going to our home page should do the trick for those being critical of the content they are consuming)," Allen Montgomery revealed to Mashable.
The article's author, Paul Horner even admitted that he knew that the show was never going to do another season, but since he was a big fan, he did the story anyway. "I know Vince Gilligan is never going to do a season 6, so I did one," he told Mashable.
Despite all the media traffic, the show hasn't responded yet. So far what is definite is that 'Breaking Bad' wrapped up a five-season run in September 2013. The show even garnered several wins during the Emmys.
