Brazil advanced to the Semi-Finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament after defeating Colombia in a grueling match by 2-1 on July 4 after Thiago Silva and David Luiz each scored a goal.

Brazil superstar Neymar is out for the remainder the World Cup after suffering a severe injury after Colombia's Juan Zuniga hit him in the back with his knee. Nevertheless, Brazil's manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is very confident that that his side can win the World Cup for the sixth time in team history.

"We didn't have a problem with tiredness after the Chile game and the team made a full recovery, as you could see in the first half. If we'd have got the second goal then, it would have settled our nerves a bit more. The goal we conceded came about because we gave away possession and were caught off balance. They really committed men forward, with three strikers and James dropping into space. Our front men had to do a lot more running too, but we got there in the end. We've still got two steps to go but we've got the ability to get there," said Scolari to reporters.

Germany is trying to beat Brazil in front of the host team's avid soccer fans in their upcoming match-up.

Germany defeated France by 1-0 on Friday in the Quarter-Finals round. Mats Hummels scored the lone goal of the game to help his team proceed to the Semi-Finals.

"I think both teams played well defensively today. There weren't many goal scoring opportunities, which was part of our plan. We didn't want to give France chances with the quality of strikers they possess. We closed them down well - and that was the key. They did the same against us, because Yohan Cabaye and Paul Pogba are a great screen for the defence and we knew that we had to go wide in order to create chances, which is why I switched Philipp Lahm to the full-back position. France gave everything to try to force the equaliser, but Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng were excellent and Manuel Neuer did well when called upon. In the last four World Cups we've reached the semi-finals. That is a good achievement. We now need to take the next step," said Germany head coach Joachim Low to reporters.
