Brazil Captain and Devout Christian Thiago Silva Shares Testimony Of Nearly Being Victim of Abortion (VIDEOS)

Brazilian national team superstar Thiago Silva revealed in a recent interview that he faced many challenges in his life including the fact that his mother almost aborted him.

At the time, Thiago's mother Angela had two children (a boy and a girl), and she did not to want have another child (Thiago) because she thought she could not afford raising an additional child.

"I was sitting on my father's lap and I cried a lot. I didn't want to have an abortion, but I couldn't bear another child," said Angela, according to Globo TV Channel, "My father did not allow me to commit this sin."

In addition, the 29-year-old soccer star also mentioned that he also battled tuberculosis at the age of 14.

"It was the greatest battle of my life. I had to stay in the hospital for 6 months until I recovered," said Silva.

Furthermore, the Paris Saint Germaine [association] football star revealed that he was grateful God was looking out for him, especially when he was growing up in a rough environment in Brazil.

"We would always hear shootings. The cops would come to the borough where I lived often. When I got home I would thank God for getting home safe."

Previously, Silva's Brazilian teammates Luis Gustavo and David Luiz were both seen praising God on live television after their side was defeated by the eventual World Cup Champions Germany by 7-1 in the Semi-Finals round.

"Apologies to everybody, apologies to all the Brazilian people. I just wanted to see my people smile," said Luiz to a reporter in a post-game interview on June 8, "We all know how important it was for me to see all of Brazil be happy, at least because of football. They were better than us. They prepared better. They played better. It's a very sad day but it's also a day from which to learn."

As a result, a fan recently wrote the following letter (translated in English by the Daily Mail) to cheer up Luiz after he was very emotional after the embarrassing loss from the European squad:

"Hi David Luiz,

My name is Analuz.

I saw all of the Brazil games in the World Cup and I liked it a lot watching you play.

I think that you don't need to be sad because you played well and did the best you could. You were a great captain.

Life is like this, sometimes people lose and sometimes people win but people only need to be happy.

David Luiz, you are my champion.

Analuz Penna Reale," wrote the fan.
