Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Married 2014 Update: Couple Officially Tied the Knot This Weekend in France [VIDEO]
In latest celebrity news, Angelina Jolie and her longtime boyfriend Brad Pitt are officially married after the couple secretly tied the knot over the weekend.
"BREAKING: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were married Saturday in France, says a spokesman for the couple," said The Associated Press via Twitter on August 28.
The 39-year-old actress previously talked about her upcoming wedding a few months ago.
"We're just waiting for it to be the right time with the kids, with work, when it feels right. We talk about it occasionally, and the kids talk about it with us, which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding. They will in a way be the wedding planners. It's going to be Disney or paintball - one or the other," said Jolie to People in May.
She went on to mention, "We've got a lot of different personalities in the house. They've got some strong opinions. It will be fun. That's the important thing. When we do it, it will feel like a great day for our family."
The 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' star started dating her future husband Brad Pitt on the set of the aforementioned movie in 2005, which would later spawn an entertainment craze called "Brangelina."
Now in 2014, the couple has six children together (Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Vivienne, Shiloh and Knox), who all participated in their parents much anticipated wedding on August 23.
At the marriage ceremony, Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers, while Pax, Maddox, Zahara and Vivienne all threw flower petals at the once-in-a-lifetime event.
After the duo got engaged on April 13, 2012, Brad Pitt later that year talked about how growing up in a Christian household caused him want to have a family of his own.
'I think it has to do with growing up in a bit of a Christian vacuum. I was taught from one book (the Bible) and one book only. It didn't sit right. Then you hear things in songs and you start watching films that offer a broader view of the world. It made me curious. It made me want to get out and travel. I always had questions," said Pitt in an interview in September 2012, according to the Daily Mail.
'I try to pass that love of stories on to the kids. You know, at bedtime... when we were watching the Olympics, stories about the athletes. Or stories in films. That's what we talk about.'
