The Philadelphia Flyers battles the Boston Bruins on October 8 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Bruins begins the 2014-2015 season by hosting their upcoming game versus the Flyers on Wednesday, as Boston looks to build upon the success the team had this past NHL season.

The Bruins were eliminated by the Montreal Canadiens in a decisive seventh game of the 2014 Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Semifinals round this past season.

Patrice Bergeron revealed his thoughts on the upcoming season after tallying 62 points last season, as result of scoring 30 goals and issuing 32 assists to his teammates in the previous campaign.

"We have to get off to a good start," said Bergeron to reporters in reference to the imminent season.

"We have to establish a connection with all the new players and make sure we're dialed in and that we definitely need to carry on what we've accomplished already."

The Flyers are attempting to win their first game of the season on the road versus one of the 'Original Six' teams in Beantown on Opening night.

Previously, Philadelphia were eliminated by their Metropolitan division rivals the New York Rangers in Game 7 of last season's Stanley Cup Conference Quarterfinals.

The Flyers star Wayne Simmonds hopes to improve on his impressive 29 goals and 31 assists performance (60 points from last season) in order to help his squad advance deeper in the Stanley Cup playoffs in the very near future.

"When he (Flyers head coach Craig Berube) gets barking, you don't want to be making eye contact with him too much," said Simmonds to reporters.

"But I can say Chief's a player's coach. He's been really good with us. It's been awesome playing for him."
